A Mother's Love

This is my belated hat tip to the Mothers out there. Being a Mother takes an incredible amount of courage, love and patience that cannot be understood.

The bulk of this work was done over the weekend and it features a Giraffe with its baby. Giraffe are amazingly tender with their young which is awe inspiring considering their gestation period is a whopping 16 months. If we had to carry children for 16 months, I think we would be pretty darn cranky when it was born.

This piece contains full and back stitching and is worked on plastic canvas which gives all the stitches an amazing taunt and smooth look. However it makes backstitching somewhat difficult. I hope you enjoy.
